Weight Loss Peptides: What They Are and What You Should Know

Medical Notice: Most peptides discussed here are not FDA-approved medications. They are research compounds. This is strictly educational information. Always consult a licensed physician.

What Are Peptides?

Peptides are short amino acid chains — small proteins — that act as signalling molecules regulating hormones, metabolism, and tissue repair. Pharmaceutical peptides like semaglutide are FDA-approved. Research peptides are sold for investigational use and exist in a regulatory grey zone in most jurisdictions.

AOD-9604

A fragment of human growth hormone targeting fat metabolism without growth effects. A 2004 Phase 2 trial showed modest weight loss (~2.3 kg over 12 weeks). Failed Phase 3 FDA approval but remains available as a research compound. Mechanism: stimulates lipolysis (fat breakdown) and inhibits lipogenesis (new fat formation).

CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin Stack

CJC-1295 extends natural GH pulse duration. Ipamorelin stimulates GH release without cortisol/prolactin spikes. Together they raise GH and IGF-1 levels, potentially promoting fat oxidation and lean mass. Limited human weight loss trial data exists.

BPC-157

Body Protection Compound. Well-documented healing effects in animal models. Not a primary weight loss compound. Used alongside other peptides for recovery and gut health. Minimal human clinical data as of 2025.

Safety

Purity is the primary concern. Contamination and mislabelling are significant risks. If a physician prescribes peptides, use only FDA-registered 503A/503B compounding pharmacies. Never self-inject compounds without confirmed third-party mass spectrometry testing.
